Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Franklin Mooney (ranked 23522 p4p, 0 weight class) and Voytek Mucha (ranked 24639 p4p, 0 weight class). Mooney has a slight injury, which hopefully won't affect the fight too much. Voytek Mucha will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, Franklin Mooney!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Voytek Mucha!
The judges for this bout are Chad Campbell, Eddie Farnsworth and Columbo Gatti.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mucha throws a sloppy head kick

and Mooney counters with a takedown into side control.
Mucha is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, Mooney asserts his dominance and retains side control.
Mucha is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
Mooney could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mucha tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mucha is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Mucha wants to get back to his feet.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Mooney is looking to work his way around to Mucha's back. He needs to be careful though, as he's in danger of losing this dominant position.
Mucha is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Mooney tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
Mooney pausing momentarily but resumes with a couple of decent strikes that do a bit of damage.
Mucha's corner are shouting for him to stand up but that's bad cornering - how is he meant to stand up when he's mounted? He should be looking to improve his position on the ground before trying to stand back up.
Mooney controlling the pace for now.
Mooney lands a big shot there that rocks Mucha but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Mooney has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

Mucha is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.
Mooney controlling the pace for now.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mooney is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Mucha has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Mooney is breathing heavily.
Mucha squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.
Mucha is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!


Mucha throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Mooney.
Mucha throws a head kick but Mooney moves out of range.
Mooney fails with an attempt to clinch.
And Mucha tries to counter it with a takedown but Mooney pushes his down on his head and steps out.

and Mooney decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Mucha's guard.
Mooney stays in close to Mucha's body and controls the position.
Mucha is looking to stand back up but Mooney counters by passing into half guard. Oops... bit sloppy there by Mucha.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Mooney stops Mucha from getting back to his feet.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Mooney with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Mucha is looking to escape.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Mucha throws a lazy head kick

and Mooney counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Mucha is wriggling around but Mooney manages to pass to half guard.
Ground and pound from Mooney.
Franklin Mooney overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Mooney in particular looking to stall.
Mucha is trying to stand.
Mooney is taking a breather. Mucha says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Mooney lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Mooney with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Mooney's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mucha connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Mooney scrambles back to his feet.
Mucha pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Mucha scores with a hook to the body. Mooney takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Ohhhhh! A huge head kick from Mucha! Mooney is out on his feet! Mucha rushes in and throws more strikes. The ref is looking closely - Mooney is covering up but the punishment is just too much and the ref steps in to stop the fight! Mooney is staring into space, just thankful that the beatdown has ended. Brutal finish.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:47 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Voytek Mucha!
A relieved looking Voytek Mucha thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
