Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 12 - 7 - 0, fighting out of New York, Turd McPherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Patrick Chaelsson!
The judges for this bout are Franklyn Lucas, Russell Pearce and Joseph Jones.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPherson throws an off balance right hand

and Chaelsson counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Chaelsson throws a big right hand that misses.
McPherson looking for a sweep. Not yet McPherson, not yet.
Chaelsson trying to control but McPherson is working from the bottom.
We've been hearing good reports from McPherson's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

McPherson working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Chaelsson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Chaelsson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

McPherson has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chaelsson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

McPherson had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Chaelsson defends it easily.
McPherson has momentary wrist control but Chaelsson slips an elbow through the middle.
In the pre-fight buildup videos we saw Chaelsson working his ground and pound in the gym. He isn't landing a great percentage of his ground strikes so far though.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Chaelsson postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.

Chaelsson stands up over McPherson, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

McPherson is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chaelsson is aware though and is defending well.
Chaelsson is working McPherson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

McPherson is rocked!
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
You can see the frustration on McPherson's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Oh McPherson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Chaelsson is putting a hurting on McPherson here, landing some big shots from side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Patrick Chaelsson dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Chaelsson throws a monster overhand right that drops McPherson! Chaelsson follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

A determined Patrick Chaelsson didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
