Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Ruas (ranked 489 p4p, 72 weight class) and Wild Turkey (ranked 912 p4p, 127 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Wild Turkey was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 17 - 10 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Carlos Ruas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 20 - 8 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Wild Turkey !
The judges for this bout are Dillan Fox, Yves DeLean and William Peck.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ruas throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ruas with a jab.
Ruas uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Turkey has time to react.
Ruas has been working on his boxing with his coaches at 3Band MMA ($800/week) in the buildup to the fight.
Turkey gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Ruas.

Ruas is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Turkey 's half guard.

Ruas is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Turkey is just riding it out for now. Ruas eventually gives up the hold.
Turkey is not content to let Ruas control the position.
Ruas is looking to advance position but Turkey won't allow it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Ruas moves nicely into side control.

Ruas staying calm.

Ruas is trying to get an arm triangle but Turkey is defending well.
Ruas is looking to take a break and control but Turkey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Ruas is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Turkey knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Ruas tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Ruas advances to mount.

Ruas working for a guillotine from mount but Turkey is in no mood to give up.

Ruas has isolated one of Turkey 's arms. Turkey looking to fight him off but Ruas twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
