Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Viktor Petrov (ranked 24742 p4p, 470 weight class) and Alec Burns (ranked 7059 p4p, 462 weight class). Petrov comes to the cage accompanied by They want too see me fall. The crowd seem to be enjoying Burns's choice of entrance music: Alberto Del Rio theme song. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Chris Edwards and Donald Grub.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Petrov looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Burns is fending him off so far but Petrov persists. Nope, Burns circles away and we're back to standing.
Petrov takes a body punch that cleary hurt but he's trying not to show any weakness.
A head kick misses from Burns.
Burns looks to land a right hand but Petrov moved out of range.
Petrov tries to counter with a takedown but Burns is quick to defend against it.
Burns fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Petrov.
Burns throws a head kick that half lands.
Burns feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Petrov's calf.

Petrov drives through with a takedown into guard.

Burns has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Petrov is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Burns lands a body punch in the clinch.
A short body shot lands from Burns as the two fighters clinch.
Burns lands a right hand that snaps the head of Petrov backwards.
Petrov fails to pull guard.
Petrov is trying to drag Burns to the mat but Burns just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Viktor Petrov. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Petrov is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Burns gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.

Petrov is trying to break the clinch but Burns is controlling him.
Petrov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Burns pulls his leg out and moves away.
Petrov wants to clinch
and Burns makes him pay by landing a nice hook to the body before moving out of range.
Burns connects with an inside leg kick.
Burns throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Petrov.

Burns moves into range and clinches up with Petrov.
Burns tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Petrov avoids it.
Burns prevents the takedown attempt.
Petrov goes for a takedown in the clinch but Burns prevents it.
With the fighters clinched against the cage, Burns creates a bit of distance for himself and scores with a nice uppercut.
Burns landing some nice looking knees to the body.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Burns gets underhooks to prevent Petrov's takedown attempt.
Petrov has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Burns after a bit of a struggle.
Petrov drops down looking for an ankle pick but Burns pulls his leg out and moves away.
Petrov really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Burns fakes a jab and scores with a low kick.
Alec Burns is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Burns connects with a body shot.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Burns jabbing away but nothing is landing.
Petrov takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Burns misses with a head kick.
Petrov throws a big counter combination but Burns scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Petrov uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Burns.
Petrov fails with a takedown attempt.
Burns lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Petrov takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Burns stuffs the takedown attempt from Petrov. Petrov gets slowly back to his feet.
As Petrov backs off Burns throws a huge counter combo but Petrov manages to avoid it all.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Petrov is defended easily by Burns.
Burns tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Burns scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.

Petrov is rocked!

Burns has closed the distance and engaged Petrov in a clinch.
Burns lands a nice elbow.
Oh Petrov is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
A hook to the body from Burns.
Burns is defending well against a takedown attempt.
Burns creates a bit of space for himself and sneaks an elbow through Petrov's defenses.
Petrov wants a takedown.

Burns breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Burns dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Petrov. That did some damage!
The fighters circle, before Burns throws a beautiful high kick that crashes into Petrov's neck, sending him stumbling to the floor! Burns lands more strikes and forces a referee stoppage! That one ended in an instant!

A determined Alec Burns didn't want to dwell on this fight in his post fight interview. Instead he was more keen to state he wants a title shot. Let's see if he gets it!
