The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Kaine feints and as Johnson raises his hands in defense, Kaine changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Johnson is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Johnson has an active guard here but Kaine has managed to pass into half guard.
Johnson works his way to full guard. Good work.

Johnson looking for a guillotine here but Kaine defends easily.

Kaine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Kaine shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Johnson pinned against the cage. Johnson gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Taurus Kaine. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Kaine shoots in but Johnson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Johnson wants to clinch.

Kaine drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.

Chuck Johnson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Kaine decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Kaine.

Kaine shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Johnson's guard.

Kaine might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Johnson controls Kaine momentarily but Kaine frees himself.

Johnson had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Kaine is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Johnson Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Kaine's back instead.
Kaine biding his time here by controlling the hands, looking to escape.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for leaving it all in the cage!
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Kaine is staying cool under pressure, defending well against the rear naked choke attempt from his opponent.

Johnson is working for the choke. It looks like he might have got it... has he...? Yes! Kaine is tapping out! This one is all over!
