Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of London, Denis Olson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Robin Hood!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Steven Brown and Richard Clark.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A clash of legs there as Hood blocks the low kick.
Hood throws a sloppy head kick and Olson moves out of range easily.
Olson appears to be looking for a big counter.
Hood fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Olson tries to bum rush Hood with a series of wild strikes but Hood uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
Olson wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Hood will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Hood closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Hood lands in his opponent's guard.

Olson scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Hood manages to mount him!
Olson really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Olson is very frustrated here, being controlled quite effectively by Hood.

Olson manages to reverse the position and now he's in Hood's guard. Nice work there by Olson.

Olson throws an elbow that misses. Hood uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Olson's guard. Nice move by Hood!

Hood not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hood accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Olson tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Hood won't allow Olson to get back to his feet.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.
Robin Hood seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A slapping leg kick lands for Olson.

Olson is going to have to think about doing something other than just controlling because Hood is managing to avoid having the position dictated to him.

Hood takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Robin Hood showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! Let's hear some noise people - this is the final round!



Hood clinches up with Olson and pushes him back against the cage.

Olson breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Hood is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Olson's half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Olson pushes Hood off but Hood dives into side control.

Hood tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.
Hood tries to score with some ground and pound. Olson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hood is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Olson knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Olson is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Hood off and has taken his back!
You can see the frustration on Hood's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Olson is persistently looking for the submission but Hood is defending it well.
Olson gets his hands free as Hood looks to control.
Olson is trying to stick to Hood's back but Hood is turning into Olson. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Olson's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Hood.

Hood decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Olson, up you get!

Hood takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.

Hood stands and steps away. Olson gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.

Denis Olson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Hood scores with a crisp jab that stopped Olson in his tracks.

Hood has his front leg slapped to the side - a nice low kick landing there from Olson.
Olson shoots in looking for a takedown. Hood tries to sprawl out of it but Olson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Hood manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Olson sets himself, and Hood steps forward looking for the clinch! Olson avoids it this time.

Hood shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Hood was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

What can Olson do to escape this position? He's going to have to figure it out pretty quick if he wants to stay in the fight!
Hood's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Olson is trying to break free.

Hood is looking for the choke from the back position but Olson is controlling his hands well.
Hood gets his hands free as Olson looks to control.

Olson is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Hood gets his way!
Denis Olson has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Robin Hood is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Well Hood has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
