Coming up we have a heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between David Tua (ranked 6255 p4p, 453 weight class) and Daniel King (ranked 4156 p4p, 368 weight class). Daniel King will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, David Tua!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 6 - 0, fighting out of London, Daniel King!
The judges for this bout are Mauricio Rocha, Emerson Jorge and Daniel Cesar.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tua takes one on the chin but keeps coming.
King lands with an overhand left.
King works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Tua steps to the side to avoid the strikes from King.
King lands with an overhand left.
A jab from King finds it's way through Tua's defenses.
King keeps the fight on the outside.
King misses with a double jab
and Tua counters with a straight right hand.


It looks like Daniel King has been cut.
Tua tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but King was well out of range. Poor timing from Tua.
Daniel King seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
King chopping away at his opponent's legs.
King throws the kick towards the body but Tua avoids it.
King has used his reach advantage pretty well so far tonight.
Tua throws out a powerful jab.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Tua throws a combination but it was largely blocked by King.

Tua catches his opponent with a big hook that sends him to the canvas! King stumbles back to his feet but will the referee allow it to continue? King walks forwards and this one will be allowed to continue! Come on!

King throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Tua misses with a telegraphed body shot
enabling King to counter with a crisp jab.
Tua will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Tua displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as King throws out the jab.
Tua seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Tua is looking to clinch.

and King counters with a three punch combo that has Tua backing up. Tua nods at King to acknowledge the strikes.
King lands a jab.
King has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Tua throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
King throws a front kick that sends Tua stumbling back into the ropes.
David Tua is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
King throws out a leg kick but Tua moves out of range and King only half commits.
King lands a head shot.
Tua tries to clinch up against the ropes, rushing in to close the distance. King manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
King lands with a thumping leg kick.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

King thuds his right hand into Tua's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.

Tua cracks King with a perfect right hand that drops him to the mat! King is sitting up but I can't see if he's OK from my position. The referee's count has reached 5,6,7 and King is still not up. Can he make it? 8,9, he's up! Wow, he cut that one a bit fine!
King feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Tua's calf.

King scores with the left hand. Tua knows he should have avoided that one.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tua throws a body punch but King moves out of range.
Tua avoids the body shot from King.
Tua lunges at King with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by King's hand.
King is still on wobbly legs! Can Tua finish him?


That has opened up Daniel King's cut even more.
King throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
King seems to have recovered his senses.
King buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.
A slow jab from King misses its intended target.
King feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Tuas jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

King swings wildly with a right hand that was never going to find it's target.
King thuds a left hand into Tua's body.
A solid body kick from King.
Tua scores with a crisp jab that stopped King in his tracks.
King lands a jab-cross combination.
King connects with a body shot.
Tua throws the left hand but King avoids the punch easily.

King throws a lazy right hand but Tua sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts King, as that shot connected.

Tua looks like he's developed a pretty tasty lump over his left eye. He'll need to avoid taking much more damage to that.
King catches Tua with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!

and King cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
King tries to work over Tua's front leg with a kick but Tua checks it.
The crowd applaud the fighters' efforts here as the round comes to an end.

David Tua has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Daniel King is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.
The fight stays on the outside here - Tua looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Daniel King comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well King has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
