Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Klaus Klingler (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gibson do Carmo (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horrible takedown by Klingler or perhaps it was just good defense by do Carmo which made him look bad.
do Carmo doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Klingler counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.
No luck for Klingler with that takedown attempt.

Klingler looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Klingler lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.

Klingler wants to work for an arm triangle but do Carmo is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.

Klingler seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.
Klingler shoots for a double leg takedown but do Carmo sprawls well. He's pushed Klingler's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Klingler decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Klingler feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

do Carmo drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and do Carmo jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

do Carmo is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Klingler is just riding it out for now. do Carmo eventually gives up the hold.

Klingler moves forwards but do Carmo connects with a nice, crisp jab.

Klingler changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. do Carmo tries to avoid it but Klingler manages to keep hold of a leg and drag do Carmo to the ground. do Carmo escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Klingler had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. do Carmo is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Klingler Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take do Carmo's back instead.

Klingler is trying to stick to do Carmo's back but do Carmo is turning into Klingler. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Klingler's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by do Carmo.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.

Klingler takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
