Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jones Roy (ranked 5121 p4p, 0 weight class) and Anton Marks (ranked 5084 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Sosuke Kotani, Yasuomi Hirokawa and Tatsuya Matsuyama.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Marks.
Roy avoids the head kick by Marks.
Roy wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Marks displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Roy.
Marks tries to counter by closing the distance.

Marks closes the distance and pushes Roy back into the cage.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.
Marks is just content to waste time from the top position. Roy takes advantage of the situation and regains full guard.
Marks wanted to stand there but Roy had control of the position.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Roy leaves Marks with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Roy tries to land a front kick but Marks steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Roy shoots in for a double leg but Marks sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Marks moves into range and clinches up with Roy.
Marks wants to take the fight to the mat but Roy manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Jones Roy has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Anton Marks.

Marks struggles to land a body shot inside as Roy controls his hands.

Marks is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Roy defends well.
Marks is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Roy is controlling him.

Roy sets himself, and Marks steps forward looking for the clinch! Roy avoids it this time.
Roy tries to close the distance and clinch but Marks swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Marks goes for a double leg but Roy avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Roy continues to drive forward.
Marks swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Marks dives in and grabs Roy's left leg, looking for a takedown. Roy pushes down on Marks's head and hops out.

Marks gets control of Roy's arms and successfully pulls guard. Marks will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Roy is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Marks is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well Marks has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
