And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Dirk Anderson and Sandra Marshall.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Roode tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Shelby misses with a series of wild punches.
Roode moves in looking to clinch but Shelby pushes him off.
Shelby rushes Roode and presses him up against the cage.
Roode has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Shelby after a bit of a struggle.
Roode drops down looking for an ankle pick but Shelby pulls his leg out and moves away.
Roode tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Roode shoots for a double leg takedown but Shelby sprawls well. He's pushed Roode's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Arturs Shelby has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Ricky Roode.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Roode throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Shelby's waist but Shelby gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Roode off to one side.
Roode shoots in looking for a takedown. Shelby tries to sprawl out of it but Roode keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Shelby manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Shelby really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Shelby throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Roode.
Shelby rushes Roode and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Shelby has Roode pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Shelby pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Roode tumbling to the mat - Shelby dives into Roode's guard.
We've been hearing good reports from Shelby's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.

Shelby wants to pass to mount but Roode is defending the position.

Roode takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Shelby swats away the attempt to clinch by Roode.
Roode shoots in but Shelby avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Shelby has Roode up against the cage in a clinch.
Roode tries to pull guard but Shelby won't allow it.

Shelby is trying to drag Roode to the mat but Roode just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

Shelby blocks a body shot from Roode.
Roode tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Shelby's elbow.
Shelby has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Roode uses from the top position.

Roode gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Shelby to score an easy takedown into full guard.

Shelby will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Shelby seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Roode for as long as he can get away with.
Shelby works over Roode with some ground and pound from guard.
Shelby slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Shelby's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Roode really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Shelby. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Roode has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Shelby can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Shelby is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Shelby takes the fight into the clinch.
Shelby drags the fight down to the ground.
Shelby has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

Roode tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Shelby just stands there and leans against the cage.
Shelby drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Roode gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Arturs Shelby overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Shelby is pulling down on Roode's head. It's preventing any offense from Roode, at least for the moment.
