PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Richard Togo (ranked 4020 p4p, 403 weight class) and Edwin Jarvis (ranked 3608 p4p, 376 weight class). Togo comes to the cage accompanied by Voodo Child - Jimi Hendrix. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Togo darts in and clinches Jarvis up against the cage.
Togo working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Togo lands a body shot in the clinch.
Jarvis tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.
Jarvis is trying to stall.
Jarvis swings away with an uppercut that misses.
Jarvis taking a breather.
A right hook to the body lands for Togo.
A right handed body shot lands from Togo.
Togo scores with a shot to the side of Jarvis's head.
Jarvis trying to land knees to the body.
Togo tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Jarvis's elbow.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Togo gets the body lock takedown. After a quick scramble, Jarvis regains guard.
Togo has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Togo wants to control from the top but Jarvis keeps moving.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jarvis avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Jarvis wants to sweep but no luck.
Jarvis is trying to keep Togo in close.
Togo tries to stand but Jarvis is controlling from the bottom.
Jarvis controls Togo momentarily but Togo frees himself.

Togo gets to his feet. Jarvis looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Togo clinches with his opponent.
Togo stalls.
Togo tries to land a shot to the body but it's blocked.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Togo lands a left hand that snaps the head of Jarvis backwards.
Togo lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Togo managing to block the knees to the body from Jarvis.
Jarvis misses with some punches.

Jarvis pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Edwin Jarvis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Jarvis slips under a jab.
Togo turns his hip over beautifully as he lands a nice leg kick.
A chopping leg kick lands by Togo.
Jarvis swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Togo fires out a quick counter leg kick but Jarvis just manages to avoid it.
Togo scoring well with a low kick there.
Togo misses with a series of wild punches.
Jarvis shapes to counter with a head kick.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Richard Togo dominated that round.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Jarvis on the wrong end of a kick to the body.
Jarvis avoids the head kick by Togo.
As Togo backs off Jarvis throws a huge counter combo but Togo manages to avoid it all.
Togo wants to land a leg kick but Jarvis is out of range.
Jarvis takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Togo attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
It seemed like Jarvis was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
A chopping leg kick lands by Togo.
Jarvis on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by Togo. Togo obviously looking to wear him down.

Togo thows a leg kick but Jarvis checks it
and Jarvis counters with a stiff right hand.
Togo tries to land a front kick but Jarvis steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.
Jarvis has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Togo.
Togo lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

Togo instigates a clinch.
Togo stalling here - the referee won't stand for too much of that.
Togo misses with the head strike.
Togo lands with a short head shot on the inside.

Jarvis is rocked!
A nice right hand lands inside from Togo.
Jarvis is still on wobbly legs! Can Togo finish him?
Togo is leaning against Jarvis and scores with a nice uppercut to the body.

Togo gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Jarvis tries to kick Togo off in order to stand up. Togo Avoids the leg push though and dives into side control.
Jarvis looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jarvis is trying to escape the position but Togo is controlling the position.
Togo in side control here. He's dropped a big elbow there and Jarvis looks hurt! Oh, he is hurt! Togo turns on the heat and pounds him out for a TKO victory! Good killer instinct there!

After the fight, Richard Togo was humble in paying tribute to his opponent but made it clear he wants to go on to bigger and better things. It seemed to go down well with the crowd who cheered him loudly.
