Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Micheal Hines (ranked 24142 p4p, 0 weight class) and Teijin Tey (ranked 2925 p4p, 0 weight class). Teijin Tey has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Micheal Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Teijin Tey!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, David Schapiro and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hines clinches up against the cage.
Hines prevents Tey from breaking the clinch.
Hines lands a shoulder strike.
Tey wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Tey lands a nice elbow.


It looks like Micheal Hines has been cut.
Hines tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Tey smiles and moves away.
Hines takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
Tey misses with a low kick.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tey ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Hines moves away.
Tey throws a series of punches but Hines moves out of range.
Tey misses with a body kick.
Good work by Hines as he checks the leg kick.
As Tey tries to get set, Hines tries to push him back and clinch up but Tey manages to avoid the attempt.

Hines fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tey to the ground. Hines is now in Tey's guard.
Tey wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Hines manages to pass to side control.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hines not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.

Tey manages to create a bit of space in order to work his way back to his feet. Hines keeps hold of his opponent and drives him back against the cage.
Tey is looking to break free of the clinch but Hines has double underhooks.
Hines keeps control of Tey as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Hines tries to pull guard but Tey forces him back to his feet, against the cage.

Hines decides to pull guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tey stopping the sweep attempt from Hines.
Hines wants to stand and escape but Tey is having none of it.
Tey works a leg free and moves into half guard.
Hines is trying to stand back up but Tey is controlling him
Tey is looking to pass Hines's guard but actually Hines recovers to full guard.
Tey prevents Hines from getting back to his feet.
Hines throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Hines lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Hines is looking to work some ground and pound but Tey has wrist control.
Tey has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Hines has passed into side control.
Tey takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Hines working the body and head with strikes.
Hines creates a bit of distance and throws down some hard shots.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Tey is trying to work for a sweep but Hines has mounted him!

Hines has hold of Tey's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and Tey manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Hines lands a heavy elbow.
Hines looking to control but Tey is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Tey throws a lazy head kick

and Hines counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Hines.
A frustrated look appears on Tey's face as he tries to break the clinch.
Hines is trying to pull guard but Tey turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
Tey wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Hines has him pressed against the cage.
Hines wants to take the fight to the mat but Tey manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.

Hines jumps guard and drags Tey to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.
Hines trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hines keeping moving, preventing Tey from controlling successfully.
Hines wants to stand but Tey is controlling the position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tey wants to control from the top but Hines keeps moving.

Hines scrambles and gets back to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Hines closes the distance and pushes Tey back into the cage.
Tey has had enough of the clinch but Hines keeps him there for the moment.
Tey is trying to break the clinch but Hines is controlling him.
Tey tries to land a knee to the body but he is off balance and Hines avoids it.
Hines keeps control of Tey as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Hines works for the underhooks and manages to get a trip takedown into guard.

Tey pushes Hines off and scrambles back to his feet.
Tey misses with a kick to the body.

Hines gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Tey is looking to break free of the clinch but Hines has double underhooks.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tey has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Tey is fighting off a takedown attempt but Hines is just too persistent for him and manages to trip Tey to the mat. Tey regains guard as soon as the fighters hit the mat.
Tey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Hines. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Hines connects with a couple of short punches.
Tey has momentary wrist control but Hines slips an elbow through the middle.
Hines throws a big right hand that misses.

Hines advances position into side control!
Hines landing a few strikes.

Hines working away diligently from side control. Landing strikes effectively there - that will score him some points on the judges scorecards.
Tey taking a bit of punishment here - Hines scoring with strikes.
Hines is looking to take a break and control but Tey is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Tey is breathing heavily.
Hines cracks Tey with a big elbow.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Hines wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Tey, who protects the arm well.
Hines lands an elbow.
Hines lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Tey down.
Hines advances nicely into full mount.
Hines raining down shots from the mount!
Hines is landing with some decent strikes but Tey is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.


Tey is rocked!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!


Hines tests Tey's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Tey is still on wobbly legs! Can Hines finish him?

Hines has managed to clinch.

Hines's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Tey tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.

Hines clinches up against the cage.

Hines pulls guard successfully.
Hines scores with a nice shot.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Hines is on top in guard.

Hines is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Tey can do to turn this around?
Hines working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
Hines postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Hines lands a couple of digs.
Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hines's corner. There ya go! There ya go!
Hines gets to his feet and stands over Tey, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Tey felt that one! Hines unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Tey from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:40 of round 3, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Micheal Hines!
