Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mark Barboza!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Danny Williams!
The judges for this bout are Paul Tew, Steven Brown and Colin Fotheringham.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Williams tries a head kick but it misses.
Barboza throws a sloppy head kick and Williams moves out of range easily.
Williams cracks Barboza with a good jab.
Barboza slips under a jab.
Barboza throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Williams closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Williams struggles to land a body shot inside as Barboza controls his hands.

Barboza pulls guard.

Barboza working for a triangle but Williams defends it easily.

Williams stands up from guard. Let's bang!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Williams.
Williams's corner calls for a 1-2. Williams obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Williams darts in and clinches Barboza up against the cage.
A short body shot lands from Williams as the two fighters clinch.
Williams lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.

Williams's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Williams takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

Williams lands a big head kick that sends Barboza tumbling to the mat! Williams takes a step backwards and waves Barboza back to his feet - he wants the finish!


It looks like Mark Barboza has been cut.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Williams feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Barboza sprawling to the canvas! Barboza rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Williams finish him?!


Barboza is rocked!
The fight stays on the outside here - Williams looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Oh Barboza is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Williams lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Barboza up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Williams from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Barboza's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Danny Williams!
Danny Williams decided to hype himself up post fight. It was going well but he went on about it a bit too long and the crowd turned on him a little.
