Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jack Bantou (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Flare (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jack Bantou has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Jack Bantou!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, John Flare!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Andrew Berry and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bantou takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Jack Bantou seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flare misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Flare clobbers Bantou with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.


It looks like Jack Bantou has been cut.
Flare lands with a nice combination. Bantou backs away looking to recover.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Bantou slips a straight right by Flare.
Flare will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Bantou is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Flare dives into side control.

and Flare counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Bantou's guard now.
Flare stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Bantou swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Flare looking to sit in guard and control but Bantou gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Flare closes this distance looking for a takedown but Bantou circles away.

Bantou has given up his back - I don’t know if this is a deliberate ploy to try and escape or if he is just struggling down there.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Bantou moves into full guard.
John Flare has got the better of the ground game so far.
Flare is on the wrong end of a couple of strikes there.
Bantou is trying to control the position from the bottom.
Bantou wants to sweep but no luck.
Flare trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Bantou shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Flare but Flare pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Flare is stalling here. Bantou is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Flare seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Bantou has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Bantou is looking to take a break and control but Flare is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Bantou tries to pass the half guard into mount. Flare knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.
Flare moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Flare has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

so Flare counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Bantou is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

John Flare comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Flare has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
