The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, Santiago Holmes and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Goatahmer leaves Madsen with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Madsen takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.
Goatahmer gets caught on his heels momentarily as he allows Madsen to score an easy takedown into full guard.
Goatahmer tries to land a sweep but no joy.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Madsen stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Goatahmer swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Madsen is looking to stand up but Goatahmer won't let him.
Goatahmer seems keen to control rather than go for a submission, at least for now.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Madsen doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Goatahmer counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Madsen tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Madsen drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.

Sloppy strikes from Goatahmer. Those never looked like landing.
Madsen moves into range and clinches up with Goatahmer.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Madsen takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Madsen tries to pull guard but Goatahmer forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Nicolas Madsen. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Madsen breaks from the clinch.
Goatahmer misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Madsen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Goatahmer sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Madsen somewhat.

Goatahmer connects with the punch.
Goatahmer cracks a nice hook into Madsen's ribs.
Nicolas Madsen seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Madsen shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Goatahmer but Goatahmer pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Goatahmer changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Madsen is breathing heavily.
Goatahmer scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.
Goatahmer pivots, looking for a leg kick but Madsen is out of range and Goatahmer settles back down.

Madsen looks shocked there as he takes a right hand to the temple.

Madsen checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Oh Madsen is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Goatahmer connects with a crisp jab.
I'm just looking down at my notes here and I see that.... oh! Goatahmer has cracked Madsen with a big right, followed by a left! He's out on his feet! Goatahmer lands another huge swinging hook and Madsen tumbles to the canvas! The ref dives in to save Madsen, before Goatahmer can land any more shots!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Philipe Goatahmer!
