The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bashington misses with a leg kick

and The Stump holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.

The Stump's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

and Bashington counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
The Stump checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Bashington dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
The Stump could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.
The Stump's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Bashington shapes like he's going to throw a leg kick but settles back down.

Bashington wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.

Bashington closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bashington is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.

The Stump escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Bashington gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The Stump has thrown up a leg looking for a triangle. Bashington doesn't defend quickly enough and The Stump has managed to lock this one up! Can Bashington escape?! NO! He's tapping out! Damn, that was a quick submission - congrats to The Stump on a fantastic submission victory.
