Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Ethan Hansen (ranked 24736 p4p, 0 weight class) and David Charleston (ranked 4599 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, David Charleston!
The judges for this bout are Joseph Jones, David Schapiro and Dean Styles.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Charleston has taken the fight to the clinch.

Hansen successfully pulls guard.
Charleston trying to control but Hansen is working from the bottom.
Hansen really is a fat lump.
Hansen is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Hansen manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Charleston manages to get himself to full guard.

Hansen slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.
Charleston keeping moving, preventing Hansen from controlling successfully.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Charleston has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Hansen can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Charleston shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Hansen defends it nicely.

Charleston clinches up with Hansen and pushes him back against the cage.
Charleston throws a nice elbow but it doesn't land.

Hansen manages to break the clinch.

Charleston closes the distance and clinches.
Hansen tries to pull guard but Charleston forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Hansen decides to pull guard.
Charleston passes Hansen's left leg - he's now in half guard.
Charleston lands with a punch from half guard.
Charleston seems to have lost interest with the ground game and is thinking about standing back up.

Hansen tries to bench press Charleston off him but Charleston keeps the position.
Hansen might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hansen is trying to escape the position but Charleston is controlling the position.
Hansen has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Hansen controls the position for a moment.

Charleston decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hansen to his feet.

Hansen tries to keep at a distance but Charleston has taken the fight into the clinch.
Hansen on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

Charleston ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Charleston no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

David Charleston dominated that round.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hansen went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Charleston. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

Hansen is trying to stall.
Charleston jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Hansen walks away with a smile on his face. Charleston gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Charleston is trying to drag Hansen to the mat but Hansen just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.
Hansen wants to get back to striking at distance but Charleston won't allow it.
Charleston is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Hansen is defending well.
Charleston tries to pull guard but Hansen holds him up against the cage and eventually Charleston drops back down to his feet.
Charleston goes for a takedown attempt but Hansen pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Charleston fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.

Hansen is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Charleston defends well.
Charleston not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.
Charleston has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Charleston is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Charleston looking to sit in guard and control but Hansen gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Hansen accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Ethan Hansen overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Charleston has his foot on Hansen's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Hansen works his way back into a safe position though.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Ethan Hansen will probably get the nod.

That's time! Hansen's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!


Charleston shoots for a double leg takedown but Hansen sprawls well. He's pushed Charleston's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Hansen attempts a counter takedown but Charleston avoids it well and moves away.

A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Charleston.
Ethan Hansen has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of David Charleston.

Charleston is trying to pull guard but Hansen turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.

Hansen wriggles free and stands up.

Hansen was looking to counter that last move with a shot to the body but he didn't commit.
A looping hook to the body misses from Charleston. Hansen does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Hansen counters with a shoot takedown. Charleston fights it but they end up in guard.

Hansen throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Charleston works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Charleston bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Hansen's guard.

Charleston has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Hansen is proving hard to escape from.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Hansen holds on and takes a little breather.

Hansen has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Charleston is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Hansen is trying to pull guard but Charleston turns him against the cage and we stay in the clinch.
