Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Sivile Gonya (ranked 1118 p4p, 147 weight class) and Johnny Lawrence (ranked 2086 p4p, 259 weight class). Lawrence has chosen Sweep the Leg as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Sivile Gonya!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 16 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Johnny Lawrence!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Radbod Blank and Albert Achterberg.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gonya pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Gonya misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.
Lawrence throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Lawrence plants his feet and lands a nice head kick!
Gonya lands with a hook. Lawrence tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.
Gonya uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Lawrence.

Gonya shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Lawrence sprawls well. Lawrence wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Gonya gets slowly back to his feet.

Gonya drops down looking for a counter takedown but Lawrence sprawls and moves away.
Lawrence lands with a hook. Gonya tried to avoid it but it clipped the top of his head.

Gonya drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
The referee asks Gonya politely if he wouldn't mind getting on with it and actually doing something. Gonya prefers to stall for the moment though.

Lawrence stops Gonya from passing to mount.

Gonya is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Lawrence is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

Gonya wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Lawrence, who protects the arm well.
Lawrence is trying to improve his position.
Lawrence really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Gonya. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Gonya is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lawrence has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gonya tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Gonya has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

That was a close round but I would say that Sivile Gonya will probably get the nod.

Lawrence scores with a crisp jab that stopped Gonya in his tracks.
Gonya gets cracked with a nice right hand there by Lawrence.

Gonya changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Gonya does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lawrence.
Gonya is looking to wear down Lawrence with body shots, infact he's throwing more body shots than head shots at the moment.

Lawrence scores with a sloppy punch to the body. Not much technique there but it did the business.

Gonya shoots in for a takedown but Lawrence shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Gonya swings for the body but Lawrence moves out of range.
Lawrence throws the left hand but Gonya avoids the punch easily.
Gonya loads up on a big right hand but Lawrence slips the punch.

Lawrence ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Lawrence appears to be waiting to throw a counter punch to the body.
Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Gonya lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Lawrence has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Lawrence and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.
Lawrence takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lawrence tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Gonya wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Gonya is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Lawrence has escaped the position, nice work there.

Gonya has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Lawrence is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Gonya yanks on the arm and Lawrence is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Gonya.
