Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dino Carson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Trevor Lahey!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Lahey shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Carson napping and manages to drive through into side control!
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Lahey wants to stand but Carson has his arm trapped.
Carson tries to escape but Lahey is in control.
Lahey working the ground and pound but Carson is defending the strikes.

Lahey goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Carson rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Lahey's guard! Nice work there by Carson!
Lahey throws a couple of shots from the bottom but they don't land.
Carson postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Lahey looking to control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Lahey is on top in guard.

Carson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Carson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Lahey wants to control from the top but Carson keeps moving.
Lahey must be cautious of submissions here, given that his opponent has the superior Jiu Jitsu.
Carson looking to control the pace of the fight rather than finish it.
Lahey trying to control but Carson is working from the bottom.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Lahey accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Lahey closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Still in half guard, Lahey seems content to control.
Carson makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Carson.
Lahey wants to control from the top but Carson keeps moving.
Lahey looking to sit in guard and control but Carson gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lahey is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Lahey really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Carson. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Carson pushes down on Lahey's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Lahey avoiding damage under a succession of punches from Carson.
Ground and pound from Carson.
Carson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.
Lahey is looking to escape.
Lahey is trying to control but can't.

Carson seems to be looking for submissions.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Carson is pressing down on Lahey's thigh, looking to free his foot. Lahey is holding on for now.
Carson is breathing heavily.
Carson throwing punches and elbows but they're not doing any damage.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

Carson has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Lahey is on him like a limpet, forcing Carson back against the cage.

Dino Carson overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

Lahey is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Carson has managed to free his arm - good work.
Lahey seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Carson does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Lahey slips a nice elbow through Carson's hands, connecting with Carson's forehead.
Carson wants to control but Lahey is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Lahey stands up out of the half guard.
Carson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Carson fails with an attempt to clinch.

Lahey closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Carson's guard.

Carson has his feet on Lahey's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Like a baseball bat into the meat of his leg there - nice leg kick by Lahey.

Lahey closes the distance and pushes Carson back into the cage.

Lahey breaks from the clinch.

Lahey scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Lahey seems to be looking for submissions.
Lahey prevents Carson from improving his position.
Lahey is figuring out what he wants to do next.

Carson moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.
Carson can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Lahey controls the pace.
Carson wants to stand up but Lahey is controlling him.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Carson doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Lahey counters with a two punch combo.
Lahey lands a straight punch to the body, keeping Carson at a distance.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Lahey throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Carson tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Lahey is in Carson's guard.


Carson is rocked!
Lahey keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Carson's head.
Oh Carson is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lahey gets to his feet and stands over Carson, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Carson felt that one! Lahey unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Carson from any more punishment!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:30 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Trevor Lahey!
