And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Somsak Ngo!
The judges for this bout are Stewart Dunkirk, Chris Downing and Alan Glass.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Palmer tries to close the distance and clinch up but Ngo swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Palmer tries to clinch but Ngo moves out of range.
Ngo misses with a low kick.
Ngo lands a jab.
Palmer tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
Palmer swings for the body but Ngo moves out of range.
Palmer throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ngo tried to score with a low kick but Palmer checks it.
Palmer walks into a jab.
Ngo is looking to slow Palmer down with leg kicks.
Ngo throws a leg kick which misses Palmer's front leg but catches the back leg as Palmer tries to avoid it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Palmer wants to clinch
and Ngo counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Palmer is looking to take this fight into the clinch.
The fighters circling - Ngo throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Palmer looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Palmer misses with a hook to the body
and Ngo counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Ngo has been working on his striking defense in training and it's paying off as Palmer is landing a low percentage of strikes.
Palmer throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Palmer ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Ngo moves away.
Ngo takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Palmer misses with a body punch
and Ngo counters with a leg kick.
John Palmer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Ngo dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Palmer swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Ngo swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Palmer doesn't manage to clinch there - Ngo circles away.
Palmer misses with a shot to the body
and Palmer takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Palmer wants to clinch up but Ngo keeps it at a distance.
Palmer looks to clinch
and Ngo counters with a crisp one two that drops Palmer! Ngo thinks about following him to the mat for a moment but instead steps back and waves Palmer to his feet! Palmer is in big trouble!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ngo ducks under a wild hook from Palmer.
Ngo scores with a nice head shot.
Palmer is rocked!
Palmer drops his hands momentarily. Ngo doesn't need a second invitation, landing a shot to the temple. Palmer staggers and falls to the mat and the ref dives in to save him from any more punishment. Palmer doesn't seem happy with the stoppage but he was done.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:22 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Somsak Ngo!
An out of breath Somsak Ngo thanked his loyal fans in his post fight interview, giving them credit for his success over the course of his career.
