Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Roy Mills (ranked 1427 p4p, 209 weight class) and Marko Antonio (ranked 2093 p4p, 269 weight class). Antonio comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Good Life kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Marko Antonio will no doubt be looking to use his reach advantage to good effect.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Marko Antonio!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Antonio shoots in for a takedown but Mills shows good takedown defense.
Antonio shoots for a double leg takedown but Mills sprawls well. He's pushed Antonio's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Antonio keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Mills wants to take a breather but Antonio is having none of it.

Mills has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Antonio is desperately trying to improve his position but Mills has a good base and remains in mount.
Mills takes his opponent's back. Perhaps a chance to lock up a rear naked choke here.
Antonio tries to roll but Mills sticks to his back.
Mills could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Mills is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.
Antonio tries to escape but Mills has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

Mills looking to break Antonio's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Antonio remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Mills will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

Mills has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Antonio has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Mills has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Antonio's body.
Antonio can't escape the position.
Antonio turns into Mills and is now in his guard.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Antonio has gone for a leg lock! Mills slips out almost immediately though and dives into Antonio's guard.

Mills might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Antonio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Mills gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.



Mills is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Antonio's half guard.
Mills moves nicely into side control.
Antonio tries to bench press Mills off him but Mills keeps the position.

Antonio looks to move to half guard but instead Mills has passed into mount! Damn!

Mills wants to finish this one by submission but Antonio is holding onto his waist, trying to prevent any attacks from Mills.

Antonio is displaying good submission defense - not really looking in danger of submitting to the rear naked choke at the moment. That could change in an instant of course if Mills gets his way!

Mills is working on the RNC. He looks like he's got it but Antonio won't tap... Oh, he's out! The ref rips Mills off his unconscious opponent!
