PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Fred Freds (ranked 5273 p4p, 406 weight class) and Bob Goblin (ranked 6246 p4p, 440 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Freds lands with a good body shot.
Goblin shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Freds defends it nicely.
Goblin takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Freds thuds his right hand into Goblin's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Freds tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Goblin was well out of range. Poor timing from Freds.
Goblin changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
Freds loads up on a big right hand but Goblin slips the punch.
Goblin looks like he wanted to counter with a high kick but didn't throw it.
Freds throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
As Freds backs off Goblin throws a huge counter combo but Freds manages to avoid it all.
Freds fakes a jab and then connects with a hook.

Goblin has taken the fight to the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Goblin has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Freds uses from the top position.

Freds scores with a hook to the body. Goblin takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.
Goblin shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Freds keeps his opponent at a distance with a nice jab.
Goblin throws a sloppy head kick and Freds moves out of range easily.
Freds steps in with a hook that catches Goblin right on the chin and knocks him to the floor! Freds follows him down with more strikes and that's all she wrote! Goblin looks absolutely devastated.
