The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jager throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jager does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Jager throws a big shot that misses.
Moon bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Jager's head.
Jager takes a hook to the side of the head. I wonder if that's got his ears ringing.
Jager throws a quick inside leg kick.
Moon misses with a straight right.
Jager walks straight into an uppercut. Luckily it didn't land flush.
Nice straight punches there by Jager. You know Roy Jones Jr respects the hands of Jager.
Moon lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jager.
Jager throws a nice head kick!
Moon works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Moon throws a nice looking combination but Jager bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Moon misses with a jab, cross combination.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Moon, as that shot connected.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Jager throws a head kick that Moon semi-blocks.

Jager has closed the distance and engaged Moon in a clinch.
Jager misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Moon.

Jager decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
Jager passes to full mount!

Jager won't let Moon get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Moon somehow manages to escape the mount and get back to his feet!
Moon clobbers Jager with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Moon lands with a nice combination. Jager backs away looking to recover.
Moon looks to land a left hand but Jager moved out of range nicely.
Moon connects with a nice looking jab.
Moon tests Jager's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Jager avoids the body shot from Moon.
Jager misses with a body punch
and Moon counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
A solid leg kick lands there for Jager.
Jager fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Moon manages to avoid it.
Jager uses good footwork to avoid the strikes from Moon.
Julius Moon is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Moon takes a nasty kick to the mid section... That should keep him thinking. Does he try and block and risk a head kick landing?
Moon looks gassed!
Jager throws a leg kick which misses Moon's front leg but catches the back leg as Moon tries to avoid it.
Moon misses with a body shot.
Jager looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Moon is fending him off so far but Jager persists. Nope, Moon circles away and we're back to standing.

Jager clinches up with Moon and pushes him back against the cage.

This has been an exciting period of action!
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Jager.
Jager tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Moon smiles and moves away.
Nice takedown defense from Moon. No joy for Jager on that attempt.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jake Jager. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jager misses with a straight left.
Moon takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.
Jager avoids a punch combination nicely.
Moon jabbing away but nothing is landing.
A nice inside leg kick there by Jager. That's going to slow Moon down.

Jager closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Jager lands a nice looking hook to the body, against the cage.

Moon's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Jager fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Moon, pushing him back against the cage.
Jager is pushing Moon up against the cage, for a bit of lean and pray action. Action being used the in the loosest possible sense of the word.

Jager pulls Moon into guard.

Jager manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Moon is trying to stand.

Jager has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Moon's face.

The referee warns Moon that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.

Moon is rocked!
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
