Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Deair Shaw (ranked 3456 p4p, 178 weight class) and Doadan Beachgon (ranked 6944 p4p, 257 weight class). Deair Shaw has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Deair Shaw!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Doadan Beachgon!
The judges for this bout are Sam Margolis, William Gold and Paul Tew.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Shaw tries to score a power double leg takedown but Beachgon sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Shaw somewhat.
Beachgon is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.

Beachgon gets caught napping as Shaw dives in and scores a takedown. Beachgon manages to retain guard.
Shaw tries to stand but Beachgon is controlling from the bottom.
Shaw trying to land body shots but he keeps hitting the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Shaw wants to control from the top but Beachgon keeps moving.

Beachgon is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Shaw is aware though and is defending well.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Beachgon can do anything to dispel that myth.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Shaw.

Shaw closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Beachgon's guard.

Shaw has his feet on Beachgon's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Beachgon is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Shaw shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Deair Shaw. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Beachgon manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Shaw on his heels. He'll look to pass Shaw's guard now, I'm sure.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

That was a close round but I would say that Deair Shaw will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Nice shot lands for Beachgon.
Beachgon fakes a couple of low kicks, before throwing one on the third attempt. It connects and Shaw has to reset his feet before getting ready to engage.

Beachgon is pulling down on Shaw's head. It's preventing any offense from Shaw, at least for the moment.

Beachgon has his foot on Shaw's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Shaw works his way back into a safe position though.

Shaw drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Beachgon dives on top into guard.

Shaw changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Beachgon tries to avoid it but Shaw manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Beachgon to the ground. Beachgon escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

This has been an exciting period of action!

Shaw breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Beachgon fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Shaw to the ground. Beachgon is now in Shaw's guard.
Beachgon controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Beachgon stands up over Shaw, holding his feet. He dives back in and lands a decent shot to the head.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Doadan Beachgon showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Beachgon stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Beachgon wants it to stay on the feet.

Beachgon turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Beachgon manages to end up in side control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Beachgon in particular looking to stall.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Shaw shoots in but Beachgon avoids the takedown attempt easily.

Beachgon shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Beachgon showed some decent athleticism there.

Shaw pushes Beachgon off looking to stand but Beachgon dives back in and keeps control.
Beachgon has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Beachgon winds up and cracks Shaw with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Deair Shaw overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Beachgon content to control rather than advance.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Doadan Beachgon comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Beachgon has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
