Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Darnell Huard (ranked 4730 p4p, 0 weight class) and Hujapalapa Kultenari (ranked 4637 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Darnell Huard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Hujapalapa Kultenari!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Peter Branson and Bart Greer.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Huard changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Kultenari looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Huard wants to lay and pray for a moment but Kultenari keeps working.
Sloppy strikes there by Huard.
Huard sitting in side control, looking to soften his opponent up with elbows and hammerfists but Kultenari is avoiding damage well and looking to escape the position.
Huard slows the pace down.
Kultenari manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

Kultenari looking to work for a kimura from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Huard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.

Huard looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
Kultenari wants to get back to full guard.
Huard controlling the pace.
Huard will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Kultenari is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Huard is taking a breather. Kultenari says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Huard prevents Kultenari from improving his position.

Huard wants to work for an arm triangle but Kultenari is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Huard tries to pass the half guard into mount. Kultenari knows what he's doing though and prevents the attempt.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Kultenari has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Huard finds it's way round the side to connect with Kultenari's head.

Huard tries to keep at a distance but Kultenari has taken the fight into the clinch.

Huard gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Huard wants to stand but Kultenari has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.
Huard is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Huard is stalling here. Kultenari is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Huard seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Kultenari has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Huard has moved round to his opponent's back and is looking for a suplex! Oh snap! He's tossed Kultenari clear over his head and slammed him to the mat!

Huard is looking for the choke from the back position but Kultenari is controlling his hands well.
I really don't envy Kultenari right now.
Kultenari is breathing heavily.

Kultenari wants to escape the position.

Huard is trying to stick to Kultenari's back but Kultenari is turning into Huard. He's managed to reverse the position - now he's in Huard's guard. Polite applause from the crowd in appreciation of some nice Jiu Jitsu by Kultenari.

We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Kultenari walks forward, straight into a front kick from Huard.

That was a close second round but I would say that Darnell Huard will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action! This is the final round!



Huard shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Kultenari tries to roll over but Huard keeps him under control.
Huard seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Kultenari wants to control but Huard is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Kultenari has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Huard is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Huard pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Huard is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Kultenari is just riding it out for now. Huard eventually gives up the hold.

Huard escapes and gets back to his feet.

And that's the end of the fight!
Darnell Huard showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Huard, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
