Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mark Evans (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sunza Masto (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Mark Evans!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sunza Masto!
The judges for this bout are John Kavanagh, Franklyn Lucas and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masto keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Mark Evans seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Evans shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Evans showed some decent athleticism there.
Masto is trying to stand.
Evans seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Evans thows a big elbow that misses, also allowing Masto to regain full guard.
Evans's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Evans working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Masto is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Evans is controlling him.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Evans accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Evans drops back looking for a leg! Masto is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Masto manages to kick Evans off! Evans jumps back into Masto's guard.

Evans not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Masto is trying to control the position from the bottom.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Evans shoots in and bounces Masto off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Evans lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Evans slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Evans has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.

The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Evans tries for a takedown but Masto sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Evans closes the distance and clinches up with Masto, looking for a takedown. Evans pushes Masto against the cage but Masto circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Evans shoots in looking for a takedown. Masto tries to sprawl out of it but Evans keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Masto manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Evans ducks down and throws a hook to the body.

Evans shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Masto as he jumps to the side.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Evans.
Masto changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Evans tries to avoid it but Masto manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Evans to the ground. Evans escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Evans shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Masto counters with a driving takedown into guard. Nice work there by Masto.

Masto throws a wild combination but nothing lands.

and Masto counters with a lovely straight right hand!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Evans is trying to drag Masto to the mat but Masto just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Evans blocks a knee to the body. He'll have a nicely bruised forearm in the morning.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Evans tries to score a body lock takedown but Masto shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

Sunza Masto comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Masto has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
