Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Joe Musashi (ranked 2784 p4p, 0 weight class) and Chandler Nelson (ranked 4598 p4p, 0 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Joe Musashi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Chandler Nelson!
The judges for this bout are Peter Branson, Daniel Franklin and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nelson throws a head kick that Musashi semi-blocks.
Musashi swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Nelson lands with a slapping head kick.
Nelson lands a nice hook to Musashi's body. Musashi takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Nelson lands a jab to Musashi's midsection.
Musashi takes a push kick to the midsection and stumbles backwards.
Musashi shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Nelson counters by moving into the clinch.
Musashi doesn't land with the attempted body shot.
Musashi is trying to pull guard but Nelson has him pressed against the cage.

Nelson lands a takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Musashi wants to sweep but no luck.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Nelson got a little sloppy there for a moment and Musashi has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Nelson has managed to get both his arms back between Musashi's legs - danger averted.

Musashi has his foot on Nelson's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Nelson works his way back into a safe position though.

Musashi escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nelson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Musashi looking to hit a scissor sweep but Nelson is one step ahead there.

Musashi looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nelson looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Musashi working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Nelson doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Nelson manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Nelson is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Nelson content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Musashi has locked up a guillotine! Musashi's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Nelson is holding on here and Musashi must be using up a lot of energy. Nelson has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Musashi gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Joe Musashi!
