Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Claudio Puelles !
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Elixir Jenkins!
The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Bart Greer and Dirk Anderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Jenkins slaps away a takedown attempt from Puelles , before circling back to the center of the mat.
Puelles defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Jenkins.
Jenkins fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Puelles avoids it really well and circles away.
Puelles shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Jenkins as he jumps to the side.

Jenkins moves into the clinch.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jenkins is struggling to control the position.
Jenkins looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Jenkins turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Jenkins in side control, just content to control the action for now.

Puelles is trying to escape and get back to his feet.
You can see the frustration on Puelles 's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Puelles wants to get back to his feet but Jenkins drags him back down.
Puelles wants to control but Jenkins postures up.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Puelles can't do much from the bottom here.
Jenkins in side control, trying to ground and pound but not landing this time.
We've been hearing good reports from Puelles 's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
Puelles gets back to half guard.

Jenkins shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Jenkins was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jenkins is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Jenkins decides to stand up, so the ref orders Puelles to his feet.

and Jenkins counters by clinching up.

Jenkins pulls guard successfully.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Jenkins looking for a sweep. Not yet Jenkins, not yet.

Jenkins is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Puelles defends well.
Jenkins has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Puelles wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.

Jenkins has a closed guard, preventing Puelles from standing up.
Puelles trying to control the position from guard on top but Jenkins is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Jenkins is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Puelles is aware though and is defending well.

Puelles drops back looking for a leg! Jenkins is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Jenkins manages to kick Puelles off! Puelles jumps back into Jenkins's guard.
Puelles won't allow Jenkins to sweep him here.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Jenkins can do anything to dispel that myth.
Puelles passes into half guard under a barage of strikes.
Puelles is pressing down on Jenkins's thigh, looking to free his foot. Jenkins is holding on for now.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Puelles wants to lay and pray for a moment but Jenkins keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jenkins is trying to stand back up but Puelles is controlling him

Puelles stands up out of the half guard.
Puelles tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and Jenkins counters with a lovely shot to the body.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.

Jenkins gets a clinch.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jenkins manages to pull guard.

Jenkins is looking for a triangle but Puelles pushes his legs off easily.
Puelles postures up.

Puelles decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Jenkins, up you get!
Puelles fails with a takedown attempt.
Jenkins dives in and grabs Puelles 's left leg, looking for a takedown. Puelles pushes down on Jenkins's head and hops out.
Puelles looks for a takedown but Jenkins sprawls well.

Puelles looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Jenkins is fending him off so far but Puelles persists. Nope, Jenkins circles away and we're back to standing.
Jenkins tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Puelles defends well and Jenkins ends up having to push Puelles into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Puelles closes the distance and clinches up with Jenkins, looking for a takedown. Puelles pushes Jenkins against the cage but Jenkins circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Puelles tries to clinch but Jenkins moves out of range.
Puelles misses with a body kick.

Jenkins darts in and clinches Puelles up against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Jenkins breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Jenkins throws a head kick that misses.
Puelles wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.
Puelles throws a head kick but Jenkins moves out of range.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Elixir Jenkins showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!



Jenkins has closed the distance and engaged Puelles in a clinch.

Jenkins tightens his grip and picks Puelles up, before dumping him to the ground. Puelles manages to land in guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Puelles not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.

Puelles working for a triangle but Jenkins defends it easily.
Jenkins trying to control but Puelles is working from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Puelles trying to keep a closed guard but Jenkins is proving a slippery customer.
Elixir Jenkins has got the better of the ground game so far.

Jenkins throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Puelles bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Jenkins's guard.

Jenkins keeping moving, preventing Puelles from controlling successfully.
Jenkins wants to stand but Puelles is controlling the position.
Puelles wants to stand but Jenkins has a closed guard, so he can't escape.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Puelles wants to control from the top but Jenkins keeps moving.
Jenkins wants to stand and escape but Puelles is having none of it.

Jenkins working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Puelles has passed into half guard!
Puelles is nestled in close to Jenkins, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Jenkins is staying active underneath Puelles , who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Jenkins looking for submissions from an awkward position here.

Puelles is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Jenkins is just riding it out for now. Puelles eventually gives up the hold.

Jenkins on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.

Puelles decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Claudio Puelles is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Jenkins fails with a takedown attempt.

Jenkins changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Puelles tries to avoid it but Jenkins manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Puelles to the ground. Puelles escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Claudio Puelles has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Elixir Jenkins.
Jenkins takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Puelles shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jenkins but Jenkins pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Puelles gets tackled into the cage by Jenkins. Jenkins maintains the clinch.
Claudio Puelles has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Elixir Jenkins is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Jenkins has Puelles pressed up against the cage. He's trying to work for a single leg takedown. Jenkins pulls back from the cage and twists to the side, sending Puelles tumbling to the mat - Jenkins dives into Puelles 's guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Claudio Puelles .
I think Jenkins has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
