PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Max Mason (ranked 3117 p4p, 388 weight class) and Chuck Lee (ranked 4411 p4p, 476 weight class). Lee has chosen Titties and Coke "subliminal messages" as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Max Mason had a look across the cage there at his opponent. He definitely means business

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 15 - 6 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Max Mason!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 7 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Chuck Lee!
The judges for this bout are Valeri Chadov, Ivan Kurochkin and Vladimir Khabensky.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lee darts in trying to clinch
and Mason cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Mason has Lee up against the cage in a clinch.
Lee is trying to break the clinch but Mason has him pressed against the cage.
Lee has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Mason lands an uppercut.
Lee has had enough of the clinch but Mason keeps him there for the moment.
Lee wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Lee tries to break free but Mason pushes him back against the cage.

Mason breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Lee throws a hook but Mason blocks it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee wants to clinch but Mason slips to the side
and Mason counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Lee wants to clinch but Mason slips to the side
and Mason counters with a three punch combo that has Lee backing up. Lee nods at Mason to acknowledge the strikes.
Lee pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
A nice leg kick lands there from Mason.
Lee throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Mason fires out a quick counter leg kick but Lee just manages to avoid it.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Mason lands a right hook to the body.
Lee tries to clinch but is not successful on this occasion.
It looked like Mason was trying to counter with a body shot coming off that last attack from Lee.
Lee tries to clinch but Mason moves out of range.
Lee swings away with a body shot that misses

and Mason holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Lee wants to get back to striking at distance but Mason won't allow it.
Mason lands a body shot in the clinch.
Lee wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Lee misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Mason.
Lee is trying to force a seperation but Mason has the dominant position.

Lee manages to break the clinch.
Mason throws a series of punches but Lee moves out of range.
Mason bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Mason looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.

Mason gets to the clinch - let's see what his plan is here.
Lee is looking to break free of the clinch but Mason has double underhooks.

Mason's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Mason throws a wild body kick that Lee sees coming a mile off.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Lee closes the distance looking to clinch
and Mason counters with a one-two to the body.
Mason circles away from the clinch attempt.
It looked like Mason was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
A low kick from Lee misses
and Mason counters with a left and a right... And another left! Lee is down! He's done! The ref dives in to save him and that's the end of the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:26 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Max Mason!
