Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Brock Gillespie (ranked 23207 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mckinley (ranked 4688 p4p, 0 weight class). Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Brock Gillespie!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Luis Engracia, Matheus Silva and Mauricio Rocha.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Mckinley shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Gillespie pushes Mckinley off but Mckinley dives into side control.
You can see the frustration on Gillespie's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Gillespie is not content to let Mckinley control the position.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Mckinley feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Gillespie's calf.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Mckinley shoots in and bounces Gillespie off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Mckinley is trying to escape back to his feet but Gillespie uses the scramble to pass into side control.
Mckinley is in a bad spot here and he knows it... just holding on for now.

Gillespie throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Mckinley is looking to clinch but Gillespie is avoiding it.

Gillespie scores with a few weak punches.

Gillespie is looking to control Mckinley's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Gillespie avoid being mounted?
John Mckinley has got the better of the ground game so far.
Mckinley thows a huge punch but Gillespie dodges it nicely.

Mckinley passes the half guard and he's now in mount! Big trouble for Gillespie!
Gillespie suckers Mckinley into throwing a sloppy strike and uses the momentum to reverse the position beautifully! Gillespie is now in Mckinley's guard!
Gillespie postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Gillespie slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Gillespie wants to stand but Mckinley is controlling his posture from full guard.
Mckinley wants to sweep but no luck.
Mckinley is breathing heavily.

Gillespie wanted to stand there but Mckinley had control of the position.
Mckinley wants to hit a switch here but Gillespie passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Mckinley there!

Gillespie cracks Mckinley with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Brock Gillespie will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Well, if Gillespie is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.

John Mckinley comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I think Mckinley has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
