Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Nick Wright (ranked 4587 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jeff Plushmaster (ranked 4159 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Wright darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wright lands strikes from half guard.
Wright trying to mount his opponent but Plushmaster defends it.
Plushmaster really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Wright. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Wright passes the guard and advances to mount!
Wright has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Plushmaster tries to reverse the position but Wright maintains control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wright landing strikes from the mount and Plushmaster is in trouble!
Plushmaster is not a happy chappy… he wants out of there.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Plushmaster defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Wright.

Wright is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Plushmaster to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Plushmaster shrugs it off.

Wright thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

Wright is working for a guillotine from mount but Plushmaster frees his head quite easily.

Wright is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Plushmaster has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Plushmaster wants to control but Wright is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wright has control of Plushmaster's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Plushmaster regains control of the situation pretty easily.

BOOM! Wright connects with a massive shot to the dome!

That's time! Wright's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

No joy there for Plushmaster, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
Plushmaster fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Plushmaster stuffs the takedown attempt from Wright. Wright gets slowly back to his feet.
Plushmaster misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wright swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Plushmaster throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Wright is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Plushmaster can do to turn this around?

Plushmaster pushes Wright up against the cage in a clinch.
Wright goes for a takedown attempt but Plushmaster pushes him away and we're back to fighting at a distance.
Plushmaster fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Plushmaster should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Plushmaster dives in for a single leg takedown but Wright sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Wright shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Plushmaster but Plushmaster pushes him off and we're back to square one.

Plushmaster moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.

Wright shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Plushmaster pinned against the cage. Plushmaster gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Plushmaster shoots in for a takedown but Wright shows good takedown defense.

Plushmaster stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Plushmaster wants it to stay on the feet.
Plushmaster leaves Wright with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Plushmaster swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Wright.

Plushmaster goes for a double leg but Wright avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Wright continues to drive forward.
Wright closes the distance and clinches up with Plushmaster, looking for a takedown. Wright pushes Plushmaster against the cage but Plushmaster circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Plushmaster looks to land a combination. Wright sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Plushmaster moves into range and clinches up with Wright.

Wright turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!

Plushmaster explodes and escapes back to his feet! Nice escape there!
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Despite the aggression on Plushmaster's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Wright tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Plushmaster defends well and Wright ends up having to push Plushmaster into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Wright jumps into guard, dragging Plushmaster to the mat.

Jeff Plushmaster showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Plushmaster uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Wright has time to react.
Wright shoots in but no luck this time.
Plushmaster shoots in for a takedown but Wright shows good takedown defense.

Plushmaster throws a right hand that Wright ducks under and follows up with a left that Wright also avoids with ease.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Plushmaster has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.
Plushmaster wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Wright has him pressed against the cage.

Wright is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Plushmaster is defending well.
Plushmaster tries to work over Wright's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
