The judges for this bout are Sandra Marshall, Daniel Franklin and Peter Branson.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Watson Sr shoots in and bounces Flerg off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Flerg controls Watson Sr momentarily but Watson Sr frees himself.
Watson Sr with a couple of shots to the head there. Not particularly brutal.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Watson Sr controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Watson Sr postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Flerg throws a series of punches but Watson Sr moves out of range.

Flerg is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Watson Sr is defending well for now.

Flerg would like to get this fight back to the feet but can't get free from the closed guard.
Watson Sr manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Flerg manages to get himself to full guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Flerg has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Watson Sr is working away from the top position though.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Flerg tries to control but Watson Sr manages to take his back.
Watson Sr lands a shot to the head.
Watson Sr has the hooks in. Flerg is trying to push off one leg but he has to do so cautiously to avoid being submitted.
Watson Sr is throwing strikes from the back here. Oh that last one was to the back of the head. Watson Sr gets a warning from the referee. He throws another strike to the back of the head straight away though and the referee has seen enough. He breaks up the two fighters and stands them back up. Watson Sr gets a real talking to here and is lucky not to get a point deducted. Watson Sr apologises and we restart here on the feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Watson Sr feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Flerg is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Watson Sr dives into side control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Watson Sr connects with a good right hand that stumbles Flerg. Flerg circles away out of range and recomposes himself.

Flerg throws a couple of head shots and lands with the final one - a decent hook, which struck Watson Sr on the side of the head.

Watson Sr is delighted and gyrates in front of the ring girls. They seem to like the attention - it'll be interesting to see if Watson Sr hooks up with any of them at the after show party.
