Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Armand Gibbs!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Martin Morales!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, and Don Winkell.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
We've got one fighter who appears to only be looking to counter and the other not looking particularly aggressive either, so we could be in for a dull fight.
Gibbs shoots for a double leg takedown but Morales sprawls well. He's pushed Gibbs's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Gibbs looks to land a combination but Morales avoids it well.
Morales looks like he wants to counter punch here.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Gibbs.
Gibbs shoots in looking for a takedown. Morales tries to sprawl out of it but Gibbs keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Morales manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Armand Gibbs. That's going to take a lot out of him.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Gibbs throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Morales was covering up waiting for the punch and Gibbs finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Gibbs is looking to work some ground and pound but Morales has wrist control.

Gibbs won't allow Morales to get back to his feet.

Gibbs stands and steps away. Morales gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Gibbs misses with a jab, cross combination.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Morales! But no joy.
Morales stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Morales wants it to stay on the feet.
Gibbs looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Morales keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Gibbs shoots in for a double leg but Morales sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Gibbs dives in for a single leg takedown but Morales sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Gibbs tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Morales swivels and escapes.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Gibbs fails with a takedown attempt.
A little jabbing left from Morales on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.

Gibbs looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Gibbs wants to work for an arm triangle but Morales is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Armand Gibbs will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Gibbs throws a head kick that Morales semi-blocks.

and Morales counters with a nice uppercut.


It looks like Armand Gibbs has been cut.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

and Morales counters with a big right hand! Oh Gibbs is in trouble here! Morales follows up with more strikes and that's it! The ref has stopped it!
