The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A looping hook to the body misses from Gonzales. Schmitt does a little dance to reset his feet.
Schmitt unleashes a big counter combination but Gonzales bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Gonzales fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Schmitt slips a straight right by Gonzales.
Schmitt clinches.
Gonzales prevents a takedown attempt there.
Schmitt jumps into guard, dragging Gonzales to the mat.
Schmitt working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Gonzales doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Oh but Schmitt is tightening it up a little... Gonzales has to be careful here... He's got his foot tucked under now, this looks tight! Gonzales reacted too slowly and this one could be over in a matter of seconds! YES! Gonzales taps out! Nice BJJ there by Schmitt!
