Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joey Jones!
The judges for this bout are Dean Styles, Russell Pearce and Jorge Garcia.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Jones misses with some punches.

Minard escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Minard has closed the distance and engaged Jones in a clinch.
Minard scores a nice knee to the body.
Minard displaying some good clinch control by pressing Jones up against the cage.
Jones is trying to break free.
Minard tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
A head punch on the inside from Jones fails to land.

Minard manages to break the clinch.
Minard misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Liam Minard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Minard moves into the clinch.
Jones swings wildly with an uppercut but Minard uses good head movement to avoid it.
Minard tries a knee to the head but Jones blocks it.
Minard lands a nice elbow.

It looks like Joey Jones has been cut.
Minard missing with knees to the body.
Jones is trying to break free.
Jones content to slow the pace in the clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Minard breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Crunch! Minard slams his shin into Jones's torso.
Jones looks gassed!
Jones tries to grapple but his opponent circles

and Minard counters by moving into the clinch.

Minard wants the takedown. Jones is fighting it off but Minard persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Jones's guard against the cage.
Minard stands and throws Jones's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Minard connects with a decent looking elbow from side control that caused Jones some visible discomfort.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Minard has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Jones is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Minard yanks on the arm and Jones is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Minard.
