The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez shoots in looking for a takedown. McCaffrey tries to sprawl out of it but Ramirez keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. McCaffrey manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
McCaffrey looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Ramirez is fending him off so far but McCaffrey persists. Nope, Ramirez circles away and we're back to standing.
Ramirez throws a one two combo.
McCaffrey shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Ramirez as he avoids it easily.
McCaffrey throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Ramirez's waist but Ramirez gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing McCaffrey off to one side.
A counter left hand to the body from Ramirez misses its target.

As McCaffrey looks to move away, Ramirez throws a big counter combo but McCaffrey just gets out of the way.

And McCaffrey tries to counter it with a takedown but Ramirez pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Ramirez goes for a double leg but McCaffrey avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as McCaffrey continues to drive forward.

We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if McCaffrey can do anything to dispel that myth.

Ramirez seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but McCaffrey does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
McCaffrey has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Ramirez. Oh but McCaffrey has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Ramirez goes limp - he's gone! McCaffrey jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
