PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Hakeem Olanyian (ranked 4023 p4p, 413 weight class) and Purple Aki (ranked 2962 p4p, 321 weight class). Hakeem Olanyian had real problems making weight for this fight. After initially coming in at 157.5lbs, he had two hours to make the official fight weight. He made it but it will have taken a lot out of him to cut those extra few pounds. Hakeem Olanyian looks tired to me. Hopefully he has got enough gas left in the tank to put in a good performance.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Aki shoots in looking for a takedown. Olanyian tries to sprawl out of it but Aki keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Olanyian manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Aki shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Olanyian is looking to escape.
Olanyian definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Aki winds up and cracks Olanyian with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Aki lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Aki wants to lay and pray for a moment but Olanyian keeps working.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aki uses his free foot to push down on Olanyian's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Olanyian.
