Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Iron Shiek (ranked 3995 p4p, 355 weight class) and Anderson Gowdy (ranked 4341 p4p, 382 weight class). Gowdy has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Anderson Gowdy will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Gowdy scores with a head kick. Shiek tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

It looks like Iron Shiek has been cut.

Gowdy looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Iron Shiek seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Shiek throws a lazy right hand but Gowdy sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.
Gowdy bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Gowdy tries to land a leg kick but Shiek saw it coming and moves away.

Shiek shoots in and bounces Gowdy off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Shiek drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Shiek jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
