The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
De Fenix connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Quinones's hands.
Quinones dives in for a single leg takedown but De Fenix sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
De Fenix is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
De Fenix throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Nice sprawl there from De Fenix as Quinones shoots in.
De Fenix scores with a punch to the head.
De Fenix defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Quinones.
Ikki De Fenix has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Leon Quinones.
De Fenix lunges at Quinones with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Quinones's hand.
Ikki De Fenix seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from De Fenix. Quinones does a little dance to reset his feet.

Quinones uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by De Fenix.
Quinones has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.

Quinones looking to score a takedown here. De Fenix is defending well but Quinones drives through and ends up in De Fenix's guard.

Quinones drops back looking for a leg! De Fenix is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and De Fenix manages to kick Quinones off! Quinones jumps back into De Fenix's guard.
Quinones pushes down on De Fenix's leg and manages to get into half guard.
