Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between John Smith (ranked 2564 p4p, 257 weight class) and Tom Seguraz (ranked 5377 p4p, 408 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 1, fighting out of The Island, John Smith!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Tom Seguraz!
The judges for this bout are Bart Greer, David Hoff and Michael Johnstone.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Smith takes a swing at Seguraz's ribcage but misses.
Seguraz tries to close the distance and clinch up but Smith swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Smith throws a sloppy head kick and Seguraz moves out of range easily.
Seguraz throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Seguraz.
A looping hook to the body misses from Smith. Seguraz does a little dance to reset his feet.
Smith fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Smith cracks Seguraz with a right hand to the side of the head.
Smith is looking to land body kicks.
Seguraz with the counter takedown but Smith avoids it easily.
Seguraz on the wrong end of a nice jab.
Smith throws the left hand but Seguraz avoids the punch easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Seguraz clinches.
Seguraz fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Seguraz tries to pull guard but Smith forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
John Smith has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tom Seguraz.
Seguraz stalling.
Smith wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.
Smith has had enough of the clinch but Seguraz keeps him there for the moment.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Smith wants to break free but Seguraz has control.
Seguraz tries for a takedown. No joy.
Smith managing to block the knees to the body from Seguraz.
Seguraz is looking to score with knees to the body. Maybe he'll change it up and go body then head. Smith is defending well for now.
Smith using the Thai plumb to throw knees but Seguraz has his back arched nicely, preventing the strike.
Smith is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.
The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Seguraz takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.
Seguraz tries to take the fight to the ground by pulling guard but can't manage it.
Smith is looking to break free of the clinch but Seguraz has double underhooks.
Seguraz stalling in the clinch.
Seguraz tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Smith just stands there and leans against the cage.
Seguraz has Smith pressed against the cage, preventing Smith from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Seguraz prevents Smith from breaking the clinch.
Smith wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Seguraz has him pressed against the cage.
Smith looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.

Smith pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Seguraz tries to move into range but Smith moves to the side and lands with a nice right hand.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Seguraz shoots in looking for a takedown. Smith tries to sprawl out of it but Seguraz keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Smith manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Seguraz fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Seguraz fails with the takedown.
Seguraz checks a leg kick.
Seguraz tries to counter by closing the distance.
Seguraz takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.


It looks like Tom Seguraz has been cut.
Smith with a jab.
Smith connects with a body shot.
John Smith is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Smith defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Seguraz.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Smith throws a leg kick that misses.
Smith lands a two punch combo.
Smith looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Smith throws a front kick aimed at Seguraz's knee but Seguraz avoids it well.
Smith uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Seguraz has time to react.
Smith cracks Seguraz with a good jab.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

John Smith dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Tom Seguraz's cut.
That's time! Smith's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.


Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Seguraz moves away.
Seguraz shoots in for a takedown but Smith shows good takedown defense.
Seguraz tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Smith swivels and escapes.
Tom Seguraz is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Smith lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Seguraz misses with the body kick
and Smith counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.


Seguraz is rocked!
John Smith is winning the standup battle so far.
Seguraz is holding his hands too far apart here. Smith throws a hard, straight punch right down the pipe and BOOM! Seguraz is out! That punch landed square on the jaw - what a shot!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:25 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). John Smith!
John Smith decided to thank the fans in attendance for making a great atmosphere. It seemed to go down pretty well.
