Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Syco Souirrel (ranked 2497 p4p, 0 weight class) and Amirah Radhakrishnan (ranked 3654 p4p, 0 weight class). Amirah Radhakrishnan will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The judges for this bout are Steve Montenegro, Eddie Farnsworth and Alyssa Summers.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Souirrel gets in close and instigates a clinch.
Radhakrishnan jumps into guard, dragging Souirrel to the mat.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Souirrel stands up and waves to Radhakrishnan to follow him.
Souirrel clinches up with Radhakrishnan and pushes him back against the cage.
Radhakrishnan tries to pull guard but Souirrel holds him up against the cage and eventually Radhakrishnan drops back down to his feet.
Souirrel scores with a shot to the side of Radhakrishnan's head.
Radhakrishnan tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Souirrel smiles and moves away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Radhakrishnan jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Souirrel walks away with a smile on his face. Radhakrishnan gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Souirrel leaves Radhakrishnan with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Radhakrishnan got a little sloppy there for a moment and Souirrel has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Radhakrishnan has managed to get both his arms back between Souirrel's legs - danger averted.
Souirrel is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Radhakrishnan is trying to break the clinch but Souirrel has him pressed against the cage.

Souirrel breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Souirrel feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Radhakrishnan has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Souirrel is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Radhakrishnan.
Souirrel lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Radhakrishnan down.

Souirrel creates some space and throws a big elbow, but Radhakrishnan sees it coming and moves his head just enough to avoid the strike.

Souirrel closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Souirrel is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.

Radhakrishnan pushes Souirrel off looking to stand but Souirrel dives back in and keeps control.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Radhakrishnan can do anything to dispel that myth.
Well, if Souirrel is going to just lie there, perhaps we should talk about what we're having for dinner tonight… I'm having a ham and pineapple pizza… Yum. Can't wait.
