Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Noe Norton (ranked 24605 p4p, 0 weight class) and Oleg Makrovin (ranked 4755 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Makrovin fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Norton to the ground. Makrovin is now in Norton's guard.

Norton has his feet on Makrovin's hips. He pushes off and gets to his feet. Nice work.

Norton gets caught flat footed, as Makrovin shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Makrovin stops Norton from standing up.
Makrovin's corner is telling him to maintain position.

Makrovin decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Makrovin gets a double leg takedown into Norton's guard.

Norton scrambles and gets back to his feet.

Makrovin is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Norton's half guard.
Still in half guard, Makrovin seems content to control.
Norton wants to sweep but Makrovin has passed to side control!
Norton could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Norton tries to buck Makrovin off but Makrovin is having none of it.

Makrovin stands up and we're back to a striking position.
Makrovin throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.

Makrovin closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

Makrovin decides to stand back up.
Makrovin tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Norton paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Norton drops down looking for a counter takedown but Makrovin sprawls and moves away.

Norton tries to keep at a distance but Makrovin has taken the fight into the clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Makrovin has Norton pressed against the cage, preventing Norton from circling away and getting back to striking at range.

Makrovin jumps into guard, dragging Norton to the mat.
Norton might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Makrovin throwing some rather feeble looking strikes off his back.

Makrovin preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Norton wants to get up but he can't break Makrovin's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Norton is looking to work some ground and pound but Makrovin has wrist control.

Makrovin escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Norton gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Makrovin is adopting a defensive guard.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Makrovin controls Norton momentarily but Norton frees himself.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Norton has closed the distance and engaged Makrovin in a clinch.
Norton tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Makrovin just stands there and leans against the cage.

Norton escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Makrovin connects with a left and a right that sees a clearly hurt Norton covering up! Makrovin comes in with a big uppercut and Norton goes doooown! He's slumped up against the cage, eyes staring blankly into space.
