The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Castle closes the distance and pushes Lowery back into the cage.

Castle breaks the clinch.

Castle darts in and clinches Lowery up against the cage.
Lowery really is a fat lump.
Lowery jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Castle walks away with a smile on his face. Lowery gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Lowery takes a head kick and shrugs it off.


It looks like Marc Lowery has been cut.
Lowery avoids a punch combination nicely.
Both fighters circling a little - Castle finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Frank Castle seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Lowery has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Castle after a bit of a struggle.

and Lowery counters with a nice double leg into half guard.
Castle tries to push off, looking to stand up, but Lowery manages to move to mount!
Castle is breathing heavily.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Lowery sends his fist crashing into the mat - the crowd let out a collective ooooooh. Let's hope he's not broken it!
Castle is wriggling around trying to escape.

You get the feeling that Castle really doesn't like being in this position too much.

Lowery get's back to his feet.

Lowery shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
Lowery with a flurry of punches that miss.
Lowery is looking to work some ground and pound but Castle has wrist control.

Lowery gets to his feet. Castle looking to butt scoot but the ref puts an end to that. On your feet son!

Castle fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Lowery, pushing him back against the cage.

and Lowery counters with a series of strikes. Castle will be more careful next time no doubt.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Lowery winds up and cracks Castle with a swinging punch to the side of the head.

Lowery decides to return to a standing position.
Frank Castle seems to be getting the better of the standup.
Lowery darts in looking for a takedown but Castle gets double underhooks and turns Lowery into the cage.
The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Castle. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.
Castle shoots for a takedown but Lowery saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
Castle slaps away a takedown attempt from Lowery, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Castle has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Castle shoots for a double leg takedown but Lowery sprawls well. He's pushed Castle's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Lowery half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.

The fighters are battling for position here. Castle manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
