Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Spencer Blakemond!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
8 - 15 - 0, fighting out of New York, Syco Souirrel!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Frank Dennis and George Francis.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Souirrel.
A little feinted left hand from Blakemond on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Souirrel tries to keep at a distance but Blakemond has taken the fight into the clinch.
Blakemond is trying to break the clinch but Souirrel is controlling him.
Souirrel is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the ropes enables Blakemond to keep the fight standing.
Blakemond has Souirrel pressed against the ropes, preventing Souirrel from circling away and getting back to striking at range.
Souirrel is working for takedown but Blakemond is calmly controlling the position for now.
Blakemond escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Blakemond will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Spencer Blakemond seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Blakemond rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Souirrel moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Blakemond throws a right and a left that Souirrel avoids nicely.
Souirrel tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Blakemond defends well and Souirrel ends up having to push Blakemond into the ropes where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Blakemond cracks Souirrel with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.
Souirrel shoots in for a takedown but Blakemond shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Souirrel swats away the attempt to clinch by Blakemond.

Souirrel is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Blakemond fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.

Blakemond connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.
Souirrel closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Blakemond tries to get back to his feet but has found himself mounted instead. Damn, that's gotta suck.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Souirrel thuds his fist into the canvas! Oooouch!

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
Spencer Blakemond dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.
Blakemond feints a jab promting Souirrel to slip. Blakemond then demonstrates his capabilities by jabbing again. Souirrel slips again and ducks right into an uppercut.
Blakemond is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Souirrel can do to turn this around?
Blakemond drops Souirrel with a beautiful combination! Souirrel stares up at his opponent, who ushers him back to his feet - Blakemond is looking for the KO!
Souirrel is rocked!
Blakemond connects with a body shot.
Souirrel is still on wobbly legs! Can Blakemond finish him?
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Blakemond goes for a small jab and connects. Now Blakemond goes in closer pressing the issue. Left hook, right straight! Souirrel stumbles back but Blakemond runs in with a huge uppercut knocking Souirrel to the ground! What a finish! You have to wonder if Souirrel will ever be the same after a knockout like that.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:18 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Spencer Blakemond!
