The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Anderson scores with the left hand. Asturiem knows he should have avoided that one.

and Asturiem counters with a left and a right that stings Anderson.
Anderson keeps the fight on the outside.

Asturiem scores with a one two! Anderson had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Anderson shoots for a takedown but Asturiem saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

Asturiem tries to clinch but Anderson moves out of range.
Anderson shoots in for a double leg but Asturiem sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
The fight stays on the outside here - Asturiem looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

Anderson looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

Asturiem looks to land a combination. Anderson sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Anderson gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Asturiem jabs Anderson right on the nose. Anderson blinks but takes it well.
Asturiem fails to land with a series of punches.
Asturiem fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Anderson manages to avoid it.
Asturiem tries to bum rush Anderson with a series of wild strikes but Anderson uses good footwork to avoid the assault.

Anderson shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Anderson showed some decent athleticism there.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Anderson connects with a nice short shot to Asturiem's temple.
Asturiem on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Asturiem tries to get out of the position.

Anderson wants to take a breather but Asturiem is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Asturiem connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Anderson momentarily.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

Anderson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Anderson throws an elbow but Asturiem slips to the side and avoids it well.
Asturiem takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
Anderson misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Anderson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Asturiem, who protects the arm well.
Asturiem is trying to get back to his feet.
Asturiem really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Anderson controls the position.

Anderson has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Asturiem is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Anderson yanks on the arm and Asturiem is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Anderson.
