PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lukas Chomsli (ranked 2617 p4p, 330 weight class) and Scott Frill (ranked 2736 p4p, 343 weight class). Frill has chosen Dedication- Nipsey Hustle as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Scott Frill will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Lukas Chomsli!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Scott Frill!
The judges for this bout are William Peck, Yves DeLean and Steve Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Frill throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Chomsli closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Chomsli lands in his opponent's guard.
Frill really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Chomsli. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Chomsli clinches up with Frill and pushes him back against the cage.

Frill wants to get back to striking at distance but Chomsli won't allow it.

Chomsli bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Frill's guard.

Chomsli throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Frill tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chomsli is in Frill's guard.

Frill might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Chomsli haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Frill is using up a lot of energy trying to get back to his feet. Perhaps he should improve his position first.
The referee is pacing around the two fighters - he looks like he's thinking about a standup.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Frill is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Chomsli has double underhooks and is working for a body lock takedown. He's got it. The fighters land in half guard but Frill regains guard immediately.
Scott Frill is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Chomsli drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Frill manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Chomsli has Frill in his guard.


And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Lukas Chomsli.
I think Frill has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
