The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick misses from Kirkham.
Kirkham is looking to clinch but Sweet is avoiding it.
Sweet keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Sweet stalls.
Sweet stops a takedown attempt from Kirkham.
Kirkham wants to break the clinch but can't.
Kirkham fails to land with a short punch on the inside.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kirkham has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Sweet avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

It looks like we're going to have a standup here. Neither fighter is doing enough on the ground.

Sweet drives through and clinches with Kirkham against the cage.
Sweet misses with a knee to the head.
Kirkham is trying to break the clinch but Sweet has him pressed against the cage.
Sweet unloads a knee to the mid-section. Kirkham lets out a prehistoric sounding urrrrgh.
Kirkham tries for a takedown but Sweet manages to get underhooks.

Sweet manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Sweet pushes Kirkham off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Kirkham shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Kirkham was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Kirkham wants to control the pace but Sweet is squirming around nicely.
Sweet tries to hold on but Kirkham postures up.

Sweet tries to improve his position but Kirkham has taken his back! Kirkham has a choke - it's sunk in pretty tight... Will Sweet tap? No... maybe... yes! He's tapped! Kirkham pushes Sweet away and gets up to celebrate with his corner!
