PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Steve Crane (ranked 1896 p4p, 235 weight class) and Sabre Sloane (ranked 2220 p4p, 272 weight class). Both these guys have solid standup skills and neither is particularly fantastic on the ground, so let's hope for a nice standup war!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Steve Crane!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Sabre Sloane!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Marco Blurström and Tarja Halkonen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sloane circles away from the clinch attempt.
Crane tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Sloane was well out of range. Poor timing from Crane.
Sloane throws out a counter right but Crane avoids it with no problem.

Sloane looked like he wanted to counter with a punch but didn't throw it.

Sabre Sloane seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Crane tries to clinch up against the cage, rushing in to close the distance. Sloane manages to break the clinch and circles back to the middle of the mat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The fighters are pressed against the cage, as the pace of the fight slows.
Crane throws an elbow but it misses.

Sloane has had enough of the clinch and is looking to separate.

Sloane lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Crane just misses with a elbow thrown towards Sloane's brow.

Sloane swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Sloane fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Crane looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Boom, another hit is landed. "You're gunna get knocked out" taunts Sloane, as that shot connected.


Crane is rocked!
Sloane throws a monster overhand right that drops Crane! Sloane follows up with more strikes from mount and the fight is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:42 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sabre Sloane!
A victorious Sabre Sloane thanked his army of followers in his post fight interview, telling people to make sure they follow him on Twitter.
