PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Carlos Ottaviano (ranked 6478 p4p, 0 weight class) and Elmir Zhemaletdinov (ranked 3547 p4p, 376 weight class). Elmir Zhemaletdinov told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ottaviano displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Zhemaletdinov.

Zhemaletdinov shoots in and gets a takedown into Ottaviano's guard.

Zhemaletdinov postures up as if he's going to throw some strikes but drops back for an ankle! Ottaviano is in big trouble! He looks ready to tap! But no, he's escaped and dives on top of Zhemaletdinov, into his guard.

Zhemaletdinov is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Ottaviano is aware though and is defending well.

Ottaviano is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Zhemaletdinov has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. Ottaviano is looking to defend but Zhemaletdinov has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for Ottaviano! Zhemaletdinov pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, Ottaviano taps out and this one is all over!
