Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Walker Hobbs (ranked 4782 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alex Magdebur (ranked 4614 p4p, 445 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Magdebur fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Hobbs avoids it really well and circles away.

Magdebur fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hobbs, pushing him back against the cage.
Magdebur tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Hobbs just stands there and leans against the cage.
Magdebur is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Walker Hobbs has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Alex Magdebur.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

The pace slowing considerably in the clinch, as Magdebur takes a break from that fighting nonsense to think about the finer things in life.

Hobbs lands with a quick shot inside that doesn't really do much damage.
Hobbs jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Magdebur walks away with a smile on his face. Hobbs gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.

Hobbs is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Hobbs is working for a kimura but Magdebur is defending it quite comfortably.
Hobbs misses with a head shot. Magdebur uses the momentum to regain guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Magdebur wants to stand and escape but Hobbs is having none of it.

Hobbs turns his back and goes for a hip toss. It's a bit messy but it gets the job done and Hobbs manages to end up in side control.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Hobbs misses with a strike but at least he's keeping busy, looking to cause some damage - that will still help him when it comes to the judges scorecards.

Hobbs thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hobbs tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Hobbs has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Magdebur tries to bench press Hobbs off him but Hobbs keeps the position.

Hobbs swings around for an armbar but Magdebur sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Hobbs's guard.
Alex Magdebur has got the better of the ground game so far.
Magdebur scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Hobbs looking to hit a scissor sweep but Magdebur is one step ahead there.

Magdebur is pushing down on Hobbs's leg trying to pass to half guard. Hobbs is fighting to maintain full guard but Magdebur has managed to sneak the leg through.

Alex Magdebur showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Hammerfist, elbow! yells Hobbs's corner. There ya go! There ya go!

Hobbs got a little sloppy there for a moment and Magdebur has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hobbs has managed to get both his arms back between Magdebur's legs - danger averted.
